Applying the APA Multicultural Guidelines to Psychological Practice
Psychologists in Independent Practice (Division 42) are pleased to announce a new CE course, developed in conjunction with Division 45 (Society for the Psychological Study of Ethnic Minority Issues). The course is entitled "Applying the APA Multicultural Guidelines to Psychological Practice" and it was written by the two division presidents: Lillian Comas-Diaz and Toy Caldwell-Colbert.

Educational Objectives
- Apply the APA multicultural guidelines to improve psychological practice
- Identify the effect of culture on practice
- Implement strategies to compare the worldviews of clients from cultures different from that of the practitioner
- Discuss the usefulness of developmental models and theories, such as ethnic racial identity and multicultural sensitivity on psychological practice
- Adjust psychological practice to provide culturally competent services
- Become familiar with resources available to practitioners on cultural competence
This course is designed for doctoral level psychologists.
