CALL FOR DIVISION 42 FELLOWS
Dear Division 42 Colleagues:
I am honored to serve as the 2022-2023 Fellows Committee Chair for our Division.
We want to encourage you to consider applying for Fellow status in Division 42. Fellow status is a special distinction for American Psychological Association (APA) members with a doctoral degree in psychology who show evidence of unusual and outstanding contributions with national impact in the field of psychology beyond local, state or regional level and independent practice in particular.
There are 2 categories of Fellow status:
- Initial Fellows – Members of Division 42 who are APA members but are not Fellows of APA may apply for Fellow status through Division 42 as their sponsoring division. Division 42’s nominations deadline for completed applications to the online system is November 1, 2022.
- Current Fellows – Members of Division 42 who have already been granted APA Fellow status may apply to achieve Fellow status in Division 42. Deadline for submission of a CV and personal statement highlighting how you meet the Division 42 criteria, to the Division 42 Fellows Committee is February 28, 2023.
The APA application website for Initial Fellows is now active at https://www.apa.org/members/your-membership/fellows/apply. The webpage has all the information you need to apply for Initial Fellow status, as well as helpful information for you and your three endorsers on writing and submitting letters (including a sample endorsement letter), filling out forms, and uploading through the portal. Criteria for Fellow Status in Division 42 are available at http://apa.org/membership/fellows/division-42.pdf, and a list of current Division 42 Fellows is at https://division42.org/call-for-fellow-status-nominations/current-list-of-division-42-fellows/ (2 out of 3 endorsers must be Division 42 Fellows).
Current Fellows who have already been granted Fellow status through another division can submit a current CV and letter detailing how they meet the Division 42 criteria to the Fellows Chair, June Ching, by February 28, 2023.
